Dr. Santanu Roy is the Professor-in-Charge, Dual Country Program, and Professor, Operations, Supply Chain and Technology Management, at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Earlier Prof. Roy was the Officiating Dean (Academic Administration), Professor, Operations Management Area and Chairperson, Research and Doctoral Programs at IMT, Ghaziabad, India. Prior to joining IMT, he was an Associate Professor at Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. Dr. Roy had earlier served as Senior Principal Scientist and Head, Human Resource Group at National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS), New Delhi, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

 

 

 

 

Prof. Santanu Roy received his Ph.D. from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, IIT Kharagpur and his Integrated Master of Science (M.S.) in Physics from IIT Delhi. He has more than 32 years of experience in research, consultancy and teaching.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Roy has carried out many sponsored research and consultancy assignments for organizations such as UNDP, DANIDA, University of Essex, UK, Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI), NISSAT, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India and Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. He has a deep connect with industry having been a Corporate Trainer for HINDALCO Ltd, CPWD, Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, and the Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC). Prof. Roy had served as the Policy Council Member of the Systems Dynamics Society, headquartered at State University of New York (SUNY), Albany, New York, USA during the period 2005-2008.

 

 

 

 

Prof. Roy is an avid researcher and many of my journal and conference papers have been highly cited. One of his papers has a citation count of 42, another 19, two others 16, still another 11, just to mention a few. He has received Best Paper Awards in the 14th IEF Conference, 16-18 September 2015, Cape Town, South Africa and the 35th ISBE Conference, 7-8 November 2012, Dublin, Ireland. His current research focuses on supplier strategy, software project management, technology innovation strategies and impact of ICT on business.

 

 

 

 

Prof. Roy’s teaching interest include Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Project Management, Technology Management, Operations Strategy, and Service Operations Management. He received ERASMAS MUNDAS Teaching Fellowship (European Commission) and taught Logistics Management at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. He earlier had visiting faculty assignments at International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi (Project Management) and IIT Roorkee (Technology Management).
